The Agualivar centre is located in a unique, idyllic setting, in the village of Lagos in the province of Malaga, just 300 metres from the sea and next to the Sierra Tejeda y Almijara mountain ranges. From the school windows, you can see the highest peak in the region, La Maroma! Excellent connections to the main cities of Andalusia guarantee easy and quick access to Granada, Córdoba and Sevilla, rich in cultural and tourist attractions.
In Agualivar, students learn the language in a family atmosphere and in a way that is completely different from a traditional language school. They take part in everyday activities together with the rest of the inhabitants and speak Spanish all day long, and the teachers help them to communicate.
The school’s motto is: “The Green Way to Learn Spanish”. According to it, in Agualivar, everyone has the chance to learn the language in a calmer, idyllic environment, devoting their free time to activities and workshops related to the environment. Agualivar offers its students the opportunity to participate in “green workshops” and daily activities on an agritourism farm. The scope of “Green Workshops” include: organic farming, urban horticulture, making natural soaps, Spanish cuisine workshops, candle making and recycling.
The courses in Agualivar are run by professional teachers and small groups make it possible to make better use of the time spent on learning. The school tries to treat its students as household members, approaching each of them individually. Since the school is primarily focused on communication, it offers a variety of activities after class where you can practice your language skills, including watching Spanish films, barbecue evenings and much more. You can also spend your free time on the nearby beach or by the pool, just relaxing. Apart from taking the Standard and Intensive courses, you can also participate in selected paid additional courses:
– Diving: scuba diving initiation and PADI courses
– Extreme sports: hiking, kayaking, canyoning.
– Golf: courses for beginners and advanced players
– Culture: museums, trips to cities such as Granada, Sevilla or Córdoba, and famous white towns in Andalusia such as Ronda and Nerja
– Gastronomy: tapas and wine trails, visits to olive mills, Spanish cuisine workshops
The school offers different types of accommodations, such as renting a flat with other students, a room with a Spanish family or a hotel. There is also a Bed&Breakfast option in the building of the Agualivar centre. This form guarantees a peaceful and family atmosphere, and the preparation of meals with products from the school garden is an additional attraction!
