Spanish in Andalusia is more than just learning. It's leisure!

Jaén

This province boasts of its olive groves and the mountainous landscapes covered with olive trees. Jaen ranks first in Spain in terms of production of the treasure of the Mediterranean diet: olive oil, as well as in terms of the number of nature reserves. If you want to take part in the biggest local holiday, come in October!

Although the province of Jaen is primarily distinguished because of its diverse nature, there is no shortage of places to visit. In the capital, it is worthwhile to see the monumental Renaissance cathedral and the fortified Arab fortress of Santa Catalina, towering over the city. However, the architecture of the towns of Úbeda and Baeza is the most recognised, as there are particularly valuable examples of Renaissance style, such as the square of Santa María in Úbeda, and Gothic, as exemplified by the cathedral in Baeza.

Spanish on the move

The mountainous terrain creates interesting conditions for hiking, horse riding and mountain biking. If you are looking for less typical entertainment, you can raft along Guadalquivir, Spain's second-largest river.
